This weekend, I located a post on Pinterest titled “200 Questions to get to know someone” (unfortunately, it appears the link is no longer valid). Since we’re just starting out on this journey together, I figured it would be a great way to break the ice and get to know each other a little bit better. Two hundred seems a little daunting, so I’ll go with the first 20. Who knows, maybe this can become a series!
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
I’d try to master multiple foreign languages. French is the first one that comes to mind. Maybe Russian, too.
What’s your favorite piece of clothing that you own/owned?
This is very tricky– I like all things comfy and cozy, so scarves, flannels, and fuzzy socks are high on that list. The dress I wore to junior prom was pretty awesome: black, v-neck, super classy.
What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue?
Probably flying. I’d love to learn to pilot (and if money isn’t an issue, even own!) my very own plane.
What would your perfect room look like?
Huge armchair, almost big enough to be a loveseat. Super cushy ottoman to match. Cozy blanket, but a ceiling fan in the room to maintain optimal temperatures. I’d want a lamp and a large, open window right by the chair for natural light and beautiful views.
How often do you play sports?
I haven’t played organized sports since 6th grade. I do swim in the summer.
What fictional place would you most like to go?
What job would you be terrible at?
Professional athlete. See above.
When was the last time you climbed a tree?
I tried to climb a tree on campus in college to prove that I could. I only made it one level up, but I consider that a victory.
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning medal for?
Probably letter-writing or bath-bomb-using.
What is the most annoying habit that other people have?
Interrupting in the middle of sentences, or noisily eating.
What job do you think you’d be really good at?
What skill would you like to master?
Cooking and baking. I’d like to be able to develop more recipes– and hopefully share them with you all!
What would be the most amazing adventure to go on?
Around the world trip with no time or budget constraints. The ability to go wherever, whenever, and to stay as long as I wanted.
If you had unlimited funds to build a house that you’d live in for the rest of your life, what would the finished house be like?
High ceilings and big windows throughout. A library (imagine Beauty and the Beast, but only one story). A small kitchenette off of the library to prepare tea and snacks. A huge ensuite master bath with a tub big enough to fully immerse yourself…and jacuzzi jets!
What’s your favorite drink?
Coffee or tea, depending on my mood.
What state or country do you never want to go back to?
I may not go back to Dominica. We were there for one day on a cruise, and there wasn’t a whole lot to do.
What songs have you completely memorized?
Songs: Don’t Stop Believin’, When You Were Young, Piano Man, Scenes from an Italian Restaurant, All I Want for Christmas Is You
Musicals: Les Mis, Hamilton, Rent
What game or movie universe would you most like to live in?
Probably Harry Potter– if I was a witch and Voldemort had already been defeated.
What do you consider to be your best find?
My fiancé and my cat.
Are you usually early or late?
Unfortunately, late. Not my best quality.
What about you? Feel free to answer any and all of the questions above. I’d love to hear from you!
